- Inquiry lessons require a lot of planning and a lot of teaching time to be devoted to them
- Make sure that it relates to the students and they can make meaningful connections
- Switch up the lessons away from lecturing and overheads
What were the critical aspects of the lesson sequence? How would you "transfer" these aspects to address another topic?
- Having clear expectations and objectives of what should be understood by the end of each lesson and what is due by the next class
- This makes it easier to lead into the next topic/lesson
How did the teacher engage students in the topic?
- Discussion, research, and presentations
- Made them take responsibility for their own learning in the topic
How did sequence facilitate "active" learning on the part of the students?
- The lessons built upon the one before so the students needed to stay on task and follow along in the assignments or be completely left behind
